6th Grade Science Assignments; April 27-May 1

April 27, 2020     Pat Carpenter

Before giving you your regular assignments for the week, I want to go ahead and assign your project on space due May 12.  I am attaching 3 activities that you can choose from to do, or you may do another project involving space as long as you get my prior approval.  This will count as a test grade.  If you have a sibling in 8th grade you may work together with your sibling if you choose, but your project will be due on May 8 instead.  When your project is complete simply send me a picture of you with your finished project. If you have a high place to drop the Mars soft landing project from, it is a favorite project of past groups of students.

About Pat Carpenter

My credentials: B.S. in Elementary Education (grades 1-9); Masters in Education; 45 hours of additional graduate work. After 36 years in the classroom, I retired from public schools with Career Ladder III certification and rated as highly qualified to teach middle school science and language arts. I started teaching a TOCS in the fall of 2011. Family: My husband, George, and I exchanged wedding vows in 1972. We have two daughters--Anne and Aimee. Anne works in Nashville for the Health Department and Aimee is a registered nurse at Johnson City Medical Center. My faith: I was raised in church. I accepted Christ as my Savior as a child. The older I get, the more I realize that I can do nothing without Christ, but I can do all He wants me to do in His strength. With every word and deed, I am accountable to Christ. I take the education of each child very seriously. I teach whole heartedly as unto Christ. It is the Lord Christ I serve. Interests: Outside of the classroom I like to hike. I love looking at God's creation as I hike on a trail and just praising Him for His creation. My favorite form of praise is singing. I am active in my church choir and sing occasional solos, which allows me to share a part of my testimony with others.
