Dear TOCS Families, I hope that you are enjoying this cooler fall weather. Please continue to partner with us to hold students to dress code standards when it comes to hoodies or long sleeves as it gets colder; Warrior Wear or solid colored sweaters/sweatshirts are to be worn over polos/Warrior tshirts.
We have a special schoolwide event, “Entrepreneur Day” planned for Monday, October 3rd from 3:15-5:15 in the gym. If your students) has an invention, idea, or enjoys making things, this is their time to share their God-given talents. We will be setting up tables in and around the gym classrooms for students to demonstrate or sell their products by grade levels. Unless you are helping the P.T.F. with this special event, please do not arrive before 3:15. If your child is not staying to sell or shop, we will still have a carline from 3:15-3:30 for you to pick them up.
For those of you already signed up, also please remember to attend Mrs. Shelley’s Monday after school Bible study “CrossTrain” from 3:15-4:00 next Monday, October 3rd in the Cross Train room. Parents will pick up students from Mrs. Shelley in their regular location at 4:00, and then they may go to the gym to participate in Entrepreneur Day.
As mentioned in a previous piece of news, the Lord has provided an opportunity for us to have a few floating S.R.O. officers patrolling and circulating our premises and building. While one of them was here, we had the opportunity to talk and share about our needs and his.
Thanks to God crossing our paths, I am happy to announce that Officer Wayne Wilhoit and his K-9 Officer, Boomer, will be joining our T.O.C.S. family as our p.m./special events S.R.O. beginning on October 3rd after his retirement with GCSD on September 30th. Please take time to introduce yourself at the Entrepreneur Day event, thank him, and make him feel welcome.
Thanks to our new librarian, Mary Loise Hunt, we’re also looking forward to a recycling program beginning the first week of October. A few green totes with recycle symbols will be located in the upper and lower levels for students and staff to place paper, newspapers, hard and soft cover books, magazines, and pasteboard (cereal box style cardboard only).
The funds received from this will go back to the library to purchase more books, and it’s a great way to keep God’s creation looking clean and beautiful. A Big thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Hunt for their willingness to gather and take materials to the recycling facility each week.
This Friday is popcorn and “wear your favorite appropriate shirt”. Each are $1, and popcorn money is being saved for our new playground resurfacing and $1 is to support the Raena Richards family.
Please know that each of your families is prayed for daily and that we are here to support you and yours spiritually and academically.
In His Service, Amy Pfaff-Biebel
T.O.C.S. Administrator
