A big thank you to Brother Dennis for driving the bus yesterday and Tusculum University for inviting grades 3-8 to enjoy the game. Our students had a great time, demonstrated good behavior, and represented TOCS well in their on court competitions.

Our TOCS High School students also represented God and us well last week in their choral festival competitions at Bob Jones University in SC; they received both very good and excellent ratings! I want to thank this group of students, Mrs. McGee, and Mrs. Philbeck for all of their efforts.

Second grade’s annual “Ox Cart Sale” is happening this week, so please be sure to bring some money and stop by their tables to make a purchase. All of the money will go to sponsor two students for Christian education in Belize. What a great way to show Christ’s love!

I’m happy to announce that T.O.C.S. will be honoring and celebrating the brave men and women who have protected our freedoms on Friday, November 11th in the chapel. If you have a veteran in your family or know a veteran , please ask him or her to join us that morning at 9:30. K-8 students have prepared a variety of ways to show veterans how thankful they are for their service. We will have coffee, juice, and a variety of breakfast items following the ceremony for veterans and only the student who invited them. We thank God for allowing us to live in the United States of America and allowing us the freedom to worship King Jesus.

I’m thrilled to say that the Mitten Tree is loaded down with hats, coats, and gloves! Mrs. Donna Myers will be picking up the needed items on Monday. We would also like to encourage those that can to begin helping with Operation Christmas Child by gathering items for shoe boxes. All shoe boxes are due the week of November 14- 18, and the informational flyer was attached to last week’s “nutshell”.

Also for those of you already signed up, please remember to attend Mrs. Shelley’s Monday after school Bible study “CrossTrain” from 3:15-4:00 next Monday, November 14th in the Cross Train room.
