Dear TOCS Families,

It’s been wonderful seeing the students smiling, and sometimes sleepy, faces each morning as we all settle back into school routines. I thank God for each of your families, and I ask that you join me in prayer for Raena and her family, our faculty, staff, and each other.

We really appreciate your generosity and willingness to partner with T.O.C.S. and The Ark Ministries to help the Kentucky flood victims by collecting cleaning products, bottled water, and canned goods. For those of you who can donate, please send in all items no later than this Friday or drop off at The Ark.

Thank you for diligently following the new carline route! We also appreciate your patience as this is the first week of preschool carline. Our preschool students are learning this new routine this week. We need all parents to have their carline tag visible and stay in their vehicle while students are loading to keep the carline moving consistently; we have a very large side parking lot where smaller children can be assisted with buckling up.

Reminder, hot lunch will begin for preschool students on Tuesday, September 6th, so for those of you interested, please be sure to login to the family portal, make your selections, and pay the week prior.

T.O.C.S. Showcasers will be having their first practices this week from 3:30-4:30 (grades 1-5 on Tuesdays and grades 6-12 on Thursdays). The Tone Chime Choir will also be meeting for the first time today until 4:00 for those who have been asked to attend. Standardized test results from May 2022 are in, so the teachers will be sharing those with you and going over any questions during the fall parent-teacher conferences in September. The 8th graders will be selling ice cream and sweet treats every Thursday this school year, and the P.T.F. will be selling popcorn on the last Friday of each month. All items are $1, and the money will be used to help offset the cost of the 8th grade end of the year camp trip.

I would like to invite any students who are in 5th and 6th grade to attend Mrs. Shelley’s Monday after school Bible study/ fellowship time from 3:30-4:30 beginning on Monday, September 12th in the Spanish room.

Please know that each of your families is prayed for daily and that we are here to support you and yours spiritually and academically. Please call the office if you have a prayer request that you would like added to the “School Family Prayer Concerns” section of the News in a Nutshell. I know that I speak on behalf of the TOCS faculty, staff, and other families when I say that we appreciate your prayers as well.
