Dear TOCS Families, It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is almost upon us, and what a time to reflect on 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, “Rejoice always, pray continuously, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”. Next Tuesday, we will be enjoying fun Thanksgiving and fall activities like wagon rides, butter making, crafting, and singing.

All parents are welcome to attend singing in the chapel from 10:40-10:55 for grades K -5, and MS/HS and tone chime choir from 11:00-11:20. If you’d like to join us at the time of your child singing, please park upstairs and enter through the chapel doors. Parents are welcome to check their student(s) out with their teacher upstairs, and carline will follow for any remaining students from 11:25-11:45. Please be sure to check out with your child’s teacher after singing and have a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration this year.

The lost clothing items will be placed upstairs for you to look through that day as well. For those of you who can spare hats, mittens, or gently used coats, please remember our need for Mitten Tree donations through November 26. Please also note that P.T.F. will be popping popcorn this Friday afternoon for $1.00 per bag.

For those of you utilizing aftercare services, please program the number 423-630-0169 into your phone to call when you arrive on campus, so we can bring your student out to you. With basketball practices occurring in the gym daily and the weather getting cooler, aftercare takes place in several different locations throughout the building.

We hope this phone number will make pick up more convenient. The staff will soon be celebrating Mrs. Carol Cutshall’s 34 years of faithful service to the Towering Oaks Christian School ministry. The students have helped with a video and notes, and if you’d like to send a card or gift card please send it in by Monday, Nov. 25. Please know that each of your families is prayed for daily and that we are here to support you and yours spiritually and academcally.

Please call the office if you have a prayer request that you would like added to the “School Family Prayer Concerns” section of the News in a Nutshell. I know that I speak on behalf of the TOCS faculty, staff, and other families when I say that we appreciate your prayers as well.

With Thanksgiving and Gratefulness,
Amy Pfaff-Biebel T.O.C.S. Administrator
