Working with masks can be tricky. If you want to erase a background, masks help, but it is easier if you have a picture that has a solid background, or is already transparent.

Assignment 1:

Mask out the background from one of these two pictures. Then place the forest in the background of the picture. Use copy and paste to add the pictures to a new layer instead of downloading them.

Assignment 2:

Place the cat on a blue background using the fill tool. Add text to the picture that says “Rarrrrr.” Use copy and paste to add the pictures to a new layer instead of downloading them.
